Telehealth Psychiatric Evaluation

A psychiatric evaluation is the first step toward understanding your mental health and developing a treatment plan tailored to you. At KBR Psychiatry, we provide comprehensive evaluations through secure telehealth throughout Texas, where Kristen takes the time to understand you as a whole person. This is an opportunity to discuss your current concerns, mental health and medical history, lifestyle, and other factors contributing to your emotional well-being.

What to Expect During a Psychiatric Evaluation

Therapist and Client

Your first appointment is a collaborative conversation designed to better understand your symptoms, concerns, and goals. Depending on your circumstances, your psychiatric assessment may explore symptoms related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, sleep difficulties, mood changes, or other mental health concerns.

A psychiatric evaluation may also include reviewing previous diagnoses, medications, treatment experiences, and relevant medical or family history. We encourage patients to ask questions and share what is important to them. There is no need to have a diagnosis before your appointment—part of the purpose of the evaluation is determining what may be contributing to the symptoms you are experiencing.

Understanding Your Diagnosis

A thorough evaluation can help determine whether your symptoms are consistent with a specific mental health condition. Psychiatric diagnosis is based on a comprehensive review of your symptoms, history, and functioning. Our goal is to provide an individualized assessment and help you understand your options in a supportive environment.

Personalized Treatment Recommendations

Happy Family Outdoors

Following your evaluation, we will discuss treatment options tailored to your needs. This may include medication management, lifestyle adjustments, or therapy referrals. Medication is not automatically recommended; it is a shared decision based on benefits, risks, and your personal goals.
